THE BLOG

Hi! I'm Martina, originally from Italy and now living in New York. As an Italian…food holds a special place in my heart! After a year immersed in New York City's vibrant culture, I'm on a mission to uncover the city's best croissants and breakfast spots. Join me in the "NYC Breakfast Chronicles," where we celebrate the simple pleasure of breakfast and explore the heart of the Big Apple, one delicious bite at a time. Because in this journey, work may take a backseat, but the joy of breakfast is non-negotiable.

It all began with my first solo trip to Hawaii, where I realized the importance of cherishing personal experiences and memories. This amazing adventure across the United States has inspired me to create something special for myself, even if it's just a digital keepsake of my journey.

Let's make the most of this adventure. After all, life is all about the memories we create and the stories we tell.

I'm not a baker, and I never studied the art of cooking, but if there's one thing I've done extensively in my life, it's indulging in croissants, especially as my favorite breakfast (with a cappuccino on the side, of course). My love affair with croissants began in Turin, continued in Milan, and has now found its way to the vibrant streets of New York.

I'll be rating New York's croissants based on four key criteria using a scale of 0 to 5. I will be rating the bakery for the overall experience (Interior, exterior, price, selection).

  • Honeycomb

The honeycomb-like layers in a croissant, achieved through careful lamination, are a testament to the artistry that elevates this pastry to perfection

  • Appearance

The croissant should have a beautiful golden-brown color, medium size, the layers of the pastry should be clear visible

  • Flakiness

Savoring a croissant means inviting a cascade of delicious flakes to grace your surroundings – it's a delightful mess worth every crumb

  • Flavor

A perfect croissant should have a balance between its rich, buttery flavor and its light, flaky, and tender texture.
